Mangrove protection and habitat are a key component to our native environment. Mangroves help maintain and improve the quality of coastal waters, and protect homes from severe wind damage. Mangrove roots and trunks resist shoreline erosion and provide valuable habitat for the marine food chain. Unfortunately, mangroves can also diminish the enjoyment of our waterway views. Per Florida statutes Chapter 403, waterfront property owners are allowed rights to riparian views when mangroves are properly trimmed. Improperly trimmed mangroves can be harmed or killed off, and stubs left on the tree can result in insect and fungal damage. Our Professional Mangrove Trimmers (PMTs) are experienced in the trimming and alteration of mangroves to achieve both aesthetic and functional values, as well as keeping in compliance with state laws associated with the Florida Mangrove Trimming and Preservation act.
